Short Biography

I graduated from Grenoble INP and University Grenoble 1 where I followed a double curriculum (Signal processing engineer / Master’s degree in Cognitive Science). After working as a research engineer at the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center (CRNL) for one year, I prepared a thesis in the Laboratory on Language, Brain and Cognition (L2C2, Lyon). During that three years period, I developed and applied a new statistical method for revealing the acoustic cues used by the listeners during speech in noise comprehension. Then I was recruited as a post-doctoral researcher at the Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris) in 2016, where I am currently investigating the perception of amplitude and frequency modulations by the auditory system in humans.

J’ai suivi un double cursus ingénieur en traitement du signal / master en sciences cognitives à Grenoble (Grenoble INP et Université Grenoble 1). Après avoir travaillé un an comme ingénieur de recherche au Centre de Recherches en Neurosciences de Lyon (CRNL), j’ai réalisé une thèse au Laboratoire sur le Langage, le Cerveau et la Cognition (L2C2, Lyon). Durant ces trois années, j’ai développé et mis en application une nouvelle méthode statistique permettant de révéler les indices acoustiques utilisés par les auditeurs lors de la compréhension de la parole dans un bruit de fond. J’ai ensuite été recruté à L’ENS Paris, en 2016, en tant que chercheur post-doctoral. J’étudie actuellement la perception des modulations d’amplitude et de fréquence par le système auditif humain.

Research Areas

I have a strong interest in auditory perception (speech and non-speech sounds), and in the development of statistical/signal processing techniques for research purposes. I am currently participating in two research programs: the study of amplitude and frequency modulations perception of by the auditory system in humans, and the exploration of early perceptual abilities underlying language acquisition in infants.

Teaching

I have taught C++ programming, statistics and speech processing as a teacher assistant in charge of practicals in Polytech Lyon.
